Retaining Walls

From July to October 2015, we invested a lot of time, effort and money to completely redo our driveway, replace the crumbling retaining walls on each side of the driveway as well as the one on the front yard property line. We also repaired the septic system, put the overhead power lines, cable and fiber optic underground, upgraded the electrical service to 200 amps and connected our house to the municipal water (the house was still on a well when we purchased it). The next summer (august 2016) we completely re-landscaped the area to the south of our house adjacent to our neighbours house. There was no privacy, just a rotted boardwalk between us and our neighbours place. Work done: low concrete retaining wall on the property line the whole length of the house, with a six feet high Western Red Cedar designer fence on top of it. New drain tile, and concrete walkway installed all along the fence and the front deck to the driveway. Later in 2021 in conjunction with the building of the addition(shop) to the house, more retaining walls were erected to complete the hardscaping of the property.

All of the retaining walls were constructed out of concrete or concrete “Allan“ blocks for maximum durability.
