Interior Renovations
Kitchen was renovated with new cabinets, new solid Oak counter tops finished with high grade oil-based varnish(six coats), new heated black slate floor, new venting, new backsplash tiles, new lighting, new drywall on walls and ceiling, and paint.
Living room received: New windows, New VG Fir trim, New Fir flooring, Removal of the fireplace, New insulation, New drywall, and Paint.
The master bedroom en suite was small and had never been renovated in 28 years… yuck! A complete gut was done, down to the studs and everything rebuilt with high quality materials. All of the exterior walls were doubled in thickness and properly insulated and vapour barrier installed. All of the wood work was custom made out of VG Fir and the counter top and mirror frame are in solid Black Walnut. All the wood was sealed with epoxy and covered with five coats of the highest quality marine grade varnish. Floor is heated.
The lower floor bathroom also never renovated since the house was built, was gutted and redone with also the highest quality materials; slate floor, subway tiles ground to ceiling, solid White Oak and Black Walnut custom vanity, deep Acitech tub. Caroma toilet, Rainbow bassin and Fluid fixtures. Floor is heated.
Almost all insulation was replaced and increased in R-Value throughout the house. The Attic was completely re-insulated with minimum, R-40 batt insulation and the ventilation was corrected and increased for better air-flow. All of the electrical baseboards were replaced with new ones and adjusted to the correct size for each room. All floors, baseboards trim, windows and door trims were replaced with solid VG Fir and finished with four coats of High Performance lacquer. New light fixtures were added and almost all rooms were drywalled new and painted.
All of the cheap hollow core interior doors were replaced with custom made solid VG Fir two-panel Shaker style doors finished with four coats of High Performance lacquer satin sheen. You will not find better doors!
